Testimonials
My wife, Holly, discovered F4 Windshields early last year while Googling for a replacement windshield for her ’06 Deluxe, she found the F4 website, and watched the interview with Dave - “You have to see this…”, she said. So like a good husband I went to the website, watched the video and immediately called and talked to Dave. I have been riding for 52 years and my wife has ridden for 40 years. We have both gone thru a number of motorcycle windshields over the years. Riding in Arizona beats up a windshield faster than you can imagine. Since my wife is only 5’2”, she really wanted a cut down windshield so she could look over it. Dave said, no problem and instructed me how to properly measure windshield height. When Holly got home from work, I measured it and called Dave and ordered the windshield. Dave forewarned me that this would be a custom and take a little time to make. No problem on our part…
A couple of weeks passed and I called Dave for a status check, and that’s when I met Don. Don made a few phone calls and called me back… The windshield would arrive shortly. Great news. The windshield arrived three days later and I started the install process, only to find that the Motor Company uses white locktite on the lower two mounting bolts. Off to Sears to buy a set of torx sockets The first thing Holly noticed is that the windshield is totally distortion free. Her old windshield had a broad band of distortion across the top, which appeared much worse with polarized sunglasses. The F4 shield is sharp and clear.
The next weekend, I took her scoot for a ride and I got caught in the rain. I was amazed at how the rain sheeted off the windshield. I was so impressed that when I got home, I called Don and ordered a 8” clear for my Ultra. We now have over a year of usage and well over 12,000 Arizona miles on the two windshields. They both are as perfect as the day I installed them. I only use Windex and paper towels. While I have many bags of microfibre towels, I do not use them on any of the windshields as they collect dust, sand grit -. Arizona is famous for dust and sand.
As you can see from the picture, we have four Harleys in our collection, all have F4 windshields. We also have six more bikes and they would have F4 windshields as well if F4 built windshields for those bikes. We just purchased the Street Glide for Holly and the first thing it got was a 6”clear. You’ll notice on the left side of the picture is a ’95 FXSTS and yes, the F4 windshield is cut down (special order) so that I can look over it. When I take it to bike shows, riders always ask where I got the windshield. I more than happily give them the F4 website URL, and Dave and Don’s phone number.
The bottom line, my wife and I are “believers” in F4 motorcycle windshields. Don and Dave Frank are honest and extremely easy to deal with and their product is far superior to anything else on the market. You’ll have to trust me on this one, but once you ride with an F4 windshield, you will be a “believer” as well. It is far and away the best money you will ever spend on your scoot - the road has never looked better.

Years ago, when a man finally found a horse to his liking, he would go out and buy it a better saddle, or bit, etc. Why? because choosing the right equipment is very important. For example, aside from causing pain and fractiousness in the horse, the wrong size of bit or a bit wrongly placed can cause mouth damage that will not only lessen communications during riding, but will affect the health and happiness of your horse. The same goes for the choice of saddle, which primarily depends on the kind of riding you do. Today's cowboy is no different when it comes to outfitting his chosen ride.
I've been riding motorcycles now for 48 years. I started out as a kid w ith a mo-ped and then a Cushman scooter. Over the years I went thru many bikes, like Triumph Bonneville and Honda 750 four. As a Cleveland Motorcycle cop, (now retired), I went thru Z-1 900 Kawasaki, and Harley Davidson police motorcycles. I've owned a Honda Gold Wing since the second year they came out, with the 1000cc in 76, which lasted me thru the 1100cc era of 1980-84, when I replaced it with the 1985 1200cc. Then came my new 1500SE I purchased new in 96. I found the Gold Wing to be my ride of choice.
Finding a ride to your liking today is relatively easy, but you must outfit it to meet your personal needs. Safety is paramount for me and my co-rider, so a must on my list, besides the best riding apparel are tires, helmet, and windshield. I put the windshield at the top of the list because if your view while riding becomes so distorted, it may start off a chain of events that will force you to rely on the other above mentioned safety equipment for survival.
This is why I chose the F-4 Custom windshield for my ride. It is not a piece of molded acrylic or Plexiglas that some manufacturers or after-marketers may sell you, but I rest assured that it is carefully made from a polycarbonate in a six-step process which produces a tough, unbreakable Speed-glass (as used today in NASCAR applications), which produces a surface that has an optical clarity second to none, sheds rain like it it almost ain't raining at all, and no matter what I find on hand to clean it with, will remain a scratch and swirl free window to look through while I enjoy my journey.
Since I replaced my F-4 Custom 4" over, my riding days have been extended and improved. I have the piece of mind knowing that nothing will ever crash through it. My co-rider no longer complains of wind buffeting. In the past, even a light rain would be an annoyance when it hit her in the face at 6o mph. Not anymore. The plus 4 goes right over the top.
After dealing with the family of F-4 Customs, I was left with no questions unanswered. They are just one phone call away, and are always there to make everything right.
While at a bike rally, did you ever walk away after purchasing an aftermarket replacement part for your bike, like a piece of (safety chrome), and then ask yourself, "Did I, or the bike really need this"? Well, as soon as the free installation of my F-4 was completed, I rode away knowing that I undoubtedly made not a purchase, but an investment in the very best all around motorcycle windshield on the market today. I can rest assured that it will never have to be replaced no matter how long I own this bike. How do I know that? Well it is now four years old, and still looks as good as it did when it was first installed.
Thanks F-4 Customs

You probably already know this, but you guys manufacture one fine windshield. The instructions were 100% accurate and everything fit, first time. No swearing, no throwing wrenches, no yelling at the dog or wife. Way to go!!!

If you are considering a new windshield, definately consider the F4 Customs replacement. I have the first one they made for K1200LT and I love it. It is the exact shape of the original, a little thicker, and very scratch resistant. Bolts right up and has excellent clarity. Took a 1500 mile trip to Oregon coast and smashed a mess of bugs on it and had to clean them off with a wet paper towel mid way (no choice). No scratches! Not even fine ones.

Not too long ago I purchased a F4 plus 2 w/vent hole for my 2006 gl1800. Love the windshield, but have a problem now. Traded in the 2006 for a new 2010 gl1800. Put the new 2010 windshield on the 2006 wing. Now I have your F4 but need the felt adhesive strip that you put on the top of the dash area for mounting the F4.
Yes I let the dealer keep his new 2010 windshield and would rather cut my wrists than give your windshield away, even on a trade in.

I purchased my F4 at the last Wing Ding. Had about 4 hrs of pouring rain on the way home. And have ridden several times in rain since then. I have had several windshields and never happy with any of them until the F4. Like you said the rain drops just bead right off.
Thank you for the F4.

I purchased your F4 windshield at Wing Ding 29 in Billings, MT and as of now I have 4,000 miles on the 1800 and am very pleased with it. No road chips at all and it is still like new. Very pleased with my purchase and also with the installation at your booth in Billings.
Thank You --------

The shield is working out great and the wife says it makes a great difference for her catching less wind even when meeting trucks. I think it has made a change for the good in the way the bike responds in wind and it also sheds rain like you told me it would I can now say that I fully support your product and will do so.

Naturally, reading what companies say about their product is sometimes hard to swallow. However, I made my decision to replace my old windshield with yours. I have put it thru the test. I got it in late spring. The windshield was so clear that one of the guys I work with saw it from a distance and thought I was riding without a windshield. I had ridden the motor for three months before I tried cleaning it. There were plenty of the 'night bugs' that had met the windshield along with various types of bees and one bird, and we had a lot of mid to upper 90's during the days which really baked them on. I walked outside the other day at lunch, in 95 degree weather and using a paper towel and water, cleaned the windshield without any problem. As you said, no streaks, or marks from the paper towel.
Thanks for a great windshield.

We have had our F4 custom windshield for five years. The clarity is still outstanding. The installation was very professionally done. We have put over 25,000 miles on our Trike since it was installed and we are 100% satisfied.

We recently completed a 9000KM (5500Mi) trip on our GL1500 with a F4 windshield installed. Optical clarity was perfect, rain ran off immediately and we also found out the wet snow did not stick. Wind noise and turbulence, especially for co-rider, was considerably lessened. This windshield is the best addition we have made to the bike.

I purchased an F4 custom windshield for my Honda 1800 at Americade on Wednesday and David saved my old one in case I wanted to change my mind. But no way. I drove home to Penna. A 6 hour drive and was totally impressed with the new windshield with is additional 4 inch height which makes for a quieter ride with better optical clarity. If you talk to him before he leaves NY please tell him to just pitch the old windshield I’m not going to need it.
- Ed Newman
I received my F4 today and installed it on our 1500 MotorTrike right away. Me and the wife took a ride as soon as I was done. My wife couldn't get over how much less wind buffeting she gets. It performed just like I was told it would when I ask about it at your booth at Niehaus Cycle this past weekend.
GREAT PRODUCT (THANKS)

This is a picture of my 2008 Ultra Classic with a 9.5" Smoked windshield. This is a great product and I have recommended it to everyone.

What a great windshield! Like looking through glass! I installed on my Hoppe. Perfect! Thanks!
- Bob Brinkman
UPS delivered today, Danny put the 15” windshield on his trike and the 12” windshield that he ordered from you previously on his street glide. He liked the 12” so much he had to order the 15” for the trike.
Thanks a bunch!

I was up at Tomahawk, Wisconsin for the Harley run last week: lots of rain, lots of night riding. I'm happy to report there were no problems, and the shield does, in fact, shed rain much better than an ordinary windshield. Thanks for a great product: I'm talking it up to my riding buddies!
- Jeff
I had you replace my Harley windshield at Hals HD in Milwaukee last weekend. WOW what a difference. I had no idea how bad my old shield was. The one you installed is so clear and very easy to clean! Last evening I washed my bike. I was surprised how the water just ran off. And a weeks worth of bugs and road dirt just disappeared.
THANKS for a great product.
- Luann
I would like to thank you for all you have done for me and the promptness, courtesy, and service you have given to me. The new windshield arrived today in great shape. Thanks to all of your staff involved for "going the extra mile" and for the great service. It seems as if we are quick to complain but wanted you to know how much I appreciated your kindness.

I did not use the F-4 without Rain X, so I can’t comment on its rain shedding properties when bare. However, with Rain X, it performed like nothing else I have ever used in over 200,000 miles of riding. It is vastly superior to whatever is in second place. The beauty of the F-4 is that its hard surface allows the use of Rain X without yellowing or damage. Other windshields don’t. Large rain drops simply break into 20-30 tiny droplets on impact, with clear view around each of them. Then they stream off at speeds above 25-30 mph, leaving a beautiful clear view that greatly enhances safety. This is what I wanted, and this is what I got. The F-4 is not inexpensive, but how do you place a value on safety? To me, it’s a no brainer.
Thanks guys.
- Dave Smith
Thanks for taking care of the problem as fast as you did. I never dreamed of customer service this good. Thanks for a terrific product.

Thanks for a GREAT windshield! I have told everybody I know that you have got to call F4 Customs!!!!
Thanks again,
- Darryl Clark
I just took a 1500 mile ride behind that windshield. It was great to say the least. Having that extra four inches makes a huge difference on endurance - especially in 100 F heat. I rode in all lighting conditions with no optical issues whatsoever. The windshield also took a couple of debris hits with no indication of a scratch. It cleaned up easily, despite numerous species of bugs.
Anyway, thanks again,
- Dana
I just wanted to thank you and your crew for the courteous service that I received while attending Wing Ding this past week. I posted on the GWRRA Message Board about your service and hopefully it will sway a few new customers your way.
Thanks again for the great service.

I just purchased an F4+4 from SOS Motorcycles in Forest, Ontario. Drove from Toronto to Forest on Sunday afternoon. Don Stefanik was kind enough to install the new windshield and ship my original 2007 1800 Goldwing back to my home. The windshield is fantastic, the wind buffeting is gone. You build a great product and your dealer was fantastic.
Thanks again,
- John Laramore
I had a 94' 1500 that I used Tulsa Tall windshields on for 77,000 miles before I wrecked and totaled the bike.
I then purchased a "new to me" 2003 GL1800 last fall. It came with an F4 windshield. I had heard of them but never considered that they could be worth the cost.
After 13,000 miles on this bike (didn't get to do a lot of riding this winter LOL) I have given testimonial after testimonial of how great this is and I will never have a wing without the F4.
- Sonny
Just to let you know, the windshield is on the bike, took about 5 minutes to install, and is working fine. First rain storm, the rain just rolled off. Haven't had to clean it yet, but I anticipate it will perform as advertised.
Cheers,
- John
I had to write to thank you for your fantastic support. I first talked to the owners in their car, on their cell phone, while on their way to work. You answered all my questions and told me when you would ship (the following working day). You then lived up to your promise. In spite of the shipper beating up the box, your product arrived safely and in one piece. I had previously downloaded the installation instructions and followed your step by step recommendations. I could not believe how the pictures were the most exact I had ever seen. My yellow GL1800 now has a new (clear) look. I have been in sales for the last 37 years and am still amazed at this purchase. Fantastic service, shipped on time, beyond perfect installation instructions. Wow! You guys are fantastic. I will gladly and freely recommend you for others. I am glad to see that because of your company, customer service in America is still kicking.
Sincerely,

One of the very first necessities my wife and I decided on when we bought our 2006 Goldwing was a taller, clearer, and more scratch resistant windshield. The stock Honda windshield just wasn't cutting the wind buffeting and was much more susceptible to rock pits and hazing due to its design.
So, we pursued the Goldwing boards and gathered opinions and information from a wide variety of sources and riders. We felt that if we were going to spend a large chunk of our hard earned dollars to replace brand new equipment on our Wing, it had better be worth the money. After much research, we decided F4 Custom +4 was the best choice for a variety of reasons.
Foremost was the construction which utilizes a special Lexan polycarbonate material giving a super clear, scratch and chemical resistant, water slick surface. We were able to purchase the F4 in a +4 height which was important to us as, at 6'5" and 6'0" tall, the buffeting was uncomfortable at highway speeds. Once installed, the F4 Custom was all we'd hoped for providing much more wind, rain, and bug shielding as well as being very easy to keep clean.
Everyone we meet asks about our F4 and is amazed at how well it looks, fits, and sheds bug strikes.
A bonus of course, is that it's made right here in the U.S.A. by the Frank family. Ordering was friendly, shipping was fast, and packing was first rate.

I recently purchased a +4 for my GL1500 at Wings Over the Smokies. The ride home to Northeastern PA was a visual pleasure despite the rain on Sunday. The raindrops just pooled to the edges of the shield leaving a clear field of optical clarity. My wife riding two up had a better ride home also, not getting buffeted from the wind. You were great to deal with.
Thanks again,
- Phil Rouse
I am sending you some pix of me and the trike. Notice how beautiful and shiny and NEW looking the windshield is, despite the fact that since I got it I have ridden a lot of miles, including a wonderful motorcycle vacation on the Gaspe Peninsula in northern Quebec!!
I love my windshield!!!!!!!! On tour, we did a lot of miles without a lot of time for stopping, and it seems to shed dirt and even bugs - it cleans up instantly with a little water from my water bottle. I rarely even use Windex on it. I had to laugh (silently) at some of the other people who were so concerned about having somebody inadvertently scratch their windshields when cleaning them in gas stations, etc.!!!
Having a clear windshield is very important to me as I am short and I look THROUGH the windshield, not over it. I am especially enjoying riding at night now, as the lights from oncoming traffic no longer make blinding circles on the windshield - this new one is crystal clear and there's not a single scratch on it to reflect the headlights.
I'll just add that getting the windshield up at Americade was quite quick and easy. It was installed perfectly - at least I have not had to think about it since - no problems with it.
Your windshield is one of the best things I have added to my trike. I was thinking of waiting a year when I got it, as i had also added a new alternator, but I am glad I did it last year - it really added a lot to my touring vacation later in the summer, and every time I have ridden since then. You have a terrific product!
- Ival
I had one of your Plus 4 windshields for my 1800 Goldwing put on at Niehaus on Saturday morning. I wanted to let you know that it is great. It has eliminated the head buffeting and noise that I previously had. I am very happy with it. Thanks so much for your great service and it was a pleasure to meet you and do business. I haven't ridden with a passenger yet so I can't comment on the intercom noise or passenger wind but it has to be improved.
- Dennis Uphoff
Just to let you know, I got it. Installed it last Friday.
Install was a piece of cake - fit right on, and all 5 of the slots fit (mine is an 01 with all 5). Cleaned it up and put on a coat of Rain-X on both sides. Then took off on Saturday morning to see how it was going to work. But no rain. Had to get used to looking thru the glass - was used to looking over it in both the stock and a CeeBailey windscreen. That took quite an adjustment on my part - about 5 miles. Sunday was a different story - lots of rain and wet highways. By the time I got home, road test was over. I am completely impressed with this windshield. Rain just runs up the screen in little bitty beads, and then disappears. In fifty miles, not one drop of rain showed up on my helmet visor, or on my glasses when the face shield was up. Wind was about 5 inches over my head, no head buffet from the turbulence. Amazing. Just letting you know, I really like the windshield, and, even though it is expensive in the windshield market, I am very happy with it. You can chalk up one more happy customer.
- Harry
I bought my husband the windshield for his 1500 with the vent and the extra 4" for Christmas 06. He absolutely loves it. It is just like you advertise. We saw it last year at the Honda Homecoming and then I surprised him with it. When we went to Washington DC in May in pouring rain, he could duck behind the windshield and the rain just ran right off. The plan was to get me one in Bellville this year for my bike (1800 GW trike), but as it happened, we did not make it there. Next year!
Thanks for a great product,
- Cindy
I purchased your product in Billings at Wing Ding and am truly impressed. It is a wonderful product and as you said then, the buffeting of my passenger is gone. As such, the wife loves it as well.
Again, let me tell you that the product is wonderful and I feel superior to the Tall Tulsa that it replaced.
Thank you and see you at Wings Over the Smokies.
- Arthur
Installed my F4 Customs windshield las night. WOW! It is so clear! Thanks for a great product. I could not believe how clear the shield is. No glare from the sun this morning riding into work. Keep up the good work.
-Michael
Just to let you know I took my wife out yesterday on my Gold Wing for our first dual ride with the F4+4-SHE COULD NOT BELEIVE THE DIFFERENCE. We had high winds all afternoon and did feel buffeting from side wind, as on any bike, but she had no "bobble head" AT ALL taking place throughout the ride-her neck and head were much more comfortable and stable. So, the F4+4 was pushing the air up and over her as advertised-great product and makes longer rides much more comfortable not only for me, the driver, but for my wife also. Thanks again.
-Bob Macy
Just bought your F4 +2\" from Directline. Great winshield! Super clear, cleans super easy, installation videos were right on the money! I have been riding with windshields since 1983 and your windshield by far is the best one I have ever used!
-Pat Moore
Well, here is an update!!!
My wife and I just completed a four day, 976 mile or 1556km tour of Washington and Idaho states with the new F4 Custom windshield and it was a TOTAL pleasure; my impressions are as follows:
I noticed that switching from 15'.5" to 17'.5" made the bike noticeably quieter, the clarity and visibility through this windshield is 100% better than my stock shield-no glare at all which allowed me to go through turns at much higher speeds, the bike became much more stable, better handling and more maneuverable at all speeds, less wind turbulence between myself and the windshield, less turbulence behind me and my wife. My wife was delighted that there was significant noise reduction as well as buffeting over her head- especially at speeds in excess of 60 miles/hour.
We have not had the opportunity to ride in the rain, but I can imagine that there will be more protection for both of us.
In terms of mileage/gallon, I have no idea how much reduction there is but we are absolutely satisfied with this windshield and would recommend it with no hesitation.
- Moe
Not sure you will remember me but I wanted to say thanks...at the 2009 WingDing the owner saw that my new 2009 had an F4 which was not installed correctly so he replaced it for free. I just had an accident and the shield kept me on the bike safe...broke up my jaw but I did not go flying and am alive...thanks. Bought a replacement Goldwing and will be having a new F4 installed once I take delivery.
-Mark Taylor
We've had our original F4 +4 for 5 years now and it STILL is a 9.5 on a 10 scale!! There are 2 or 3 very small rock chips and a few small scratches on it but the optical clarity is still excellent as is the ability to dampen wind buffeting.
We returned recently from a 3 day, 700+ mile trip and I was closely examining it thinking it might be time for a replacement. Couldn't have been more pleased to see that it will last another 5 or more years at this rate of wear!!
Many thanks again to the Frank family for a quality, Made-in-The USA product, and for the great, friendly, and courteous service that accompanies EVERY order or question!
-Brian Norwood
